This course explores the critical role of provisional restorations in implant prosthodontics, focusing on soft tissue management, esthetics, and function. Clinical workflows using both analog and digital techniques will be presented. Participants will learn when and how to implement each approach for predictable outcomes.

Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:

  • Explain the biological and esthetic importance of provisional restorations in implant therapy.
  • Identify clinical indications for immediate versus delayed implant provisionalization.
  • Compare analog and digital techniques for fabricating implant provisionals.
  • Design a custom emergence profile to guide peri-implant soft tissue healing.
  • Integrate provisionalization into a predictable, patient-centered implant workflow.
