Summer Student Research Program

The RSDM Summer Research Program provides students with an opportunity to learn and participate in cutting-edge research, which will help them understand new science and technology as they embark on their professional careers. Faculty mentors have published in numerous scientific journals whose work encourages students to pursue additional research opportunities and underscores the school's integrated approach to education and research.

This program is organized by the RSDM Office of Research, and only students currently enrolled in Rutgers School of Dental Medicine are eligible to participate.

The program enables predoctoral students D1–D3 to participate in a basic or clinical research project with a research faculty mentor during the summer break. Our diverse student research projects include clinical studies, behavioral investigations, in vitro laboratory studies, and dental materials research. Students who participate in the program are required to present a research poster at the RSDM Michael P. Balbo Research Day and Dental Exposition in the spring of the following year.
